Hi Everyone,

I enjoyed meeting and working with you today. Here is my slightly late introduction. My background is as a former junior high and high school Earth science and biology teacher. I taught in inner city Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona.

I studied cellular and molecular biology at the University of Arizona and then stumbled upon a Master's certification program in Science Education. Later, (I felt like a traiter) I studied learning and instructional technology at Arizona State University. My doctoral research looked at student's understanding and visualization of topographic map features.

I have worked at TERC for about seven years now. I really enjoy the opportunity I have at TERC to develop curriculum materials, conduct research, and be a part of several professional development efforts. Earth Science by Design is one of several projects that I work on.
